| Violet Milk Cleanser-Add 1 tsp violet petals to 1/4 cup milk. Heat gently until nearly simmering, and keep heating gently until the milk is strongly violet-scented. Strain, bottle, keep in the fridge and use within three or four days. This makes a soothing oil-free cleanser.Oatmeal Facial -Mix dry oatmeal and water into a paste and spread on face. Liedown and let it dry. Wash off with warm water. Excellent facial. Neck Firmer - 1 egg white Beat 1 egg white until frothy and apply to clean, dry neck with fingers. Let dry thoroughly and then rinse neck with tepid water, can also be used on the face but avoid the eyes. Milk and Honey Cleanser-Mix 1 tsp warm honey with 1 tablespoon milk. Use immediately. Give yourself a moisturizing facial -- Make a paste from oatmeal, lemon juice and honey. Apply to face, let sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Facial Toner -Put egg whites on your face, leave it dry until it gets really tight. Then rinse it off. Oatmeal and Honey Mask- Mix oatmeal, either cooked or raw, with enough honey to make it sticky. Apply, leave for twenty minutes or so, and rinse off with plenty of water. Tones oily skin. Honey Mask- Massage some honey into your skin, and keep adding more and patting it on till your face is very tacky. Rinse off. Avocado-Honey Moisturising Mask- Mash up 2 tablespoons avocado, mix with 2 tablespoons honey and 1 egg yolk. A very rich mask. Yoghurt Mask- Use natural, unflavoured yogurt; you can add honey and/or oatmeal if you like. Smooth all over your face, massage in then rinse off. Facial Mask - This will make your skin look and feel younger almost immediately. 1 tsp. Brewer's Yeast - 1 tsp. wheat germ - 1 tsp. safflower oil - 1 tsp. whole beaten egg Mix all ingredients. Gently pat on clean face. Leave on 15 min. , then rinse with warm water. Pat dry and follow with moisturizer. Eye soother - 1-1/2 tsp mashed peaches - chamomile tea Steep 1/4 cup chamomile tea and blend 1/2 tsp. with rest of ingredients.Let cool, Apply under eye, leave on 8 - 10 minutes. Tired eyes - simple home remedy to soothe your eyes. Steep two chamomile tea bags in boiling water for three minutes. Then, transfer the tea bags to the refrigerator until they're chilled. Lie down and place the cold bags over your closed eyes for 15 min. Dark Circles or Puffiness Under Eyes - Cotton pads soaked in milk or witch hazel; avocado or cucumber slices; a compress of grated raw carrots or raw potatoes. Smooth Eyelids - and erase crease wrinkles by applying whole milk to the area and letting it remain there all day.Rinse off. Homemade Scrub-. Try salt for oily/acne skin, sugar for dry skin (is a little rougher to help get dry skin cells off), and for sensitive skin, try baking soda. Mix just a teaspoon of your choice with water, and rub in circular motions onto damp skin. Rinse and pat dry. A Tightening Mask- use egg whites, let dry, then rinse off. Rose Petal Mask- Mix dried or fresh rose petals with milk, cornstarch and a drop of honey to form a paste. Allow to remain on skin / body for 15 minutes then rinse with cool water. Not only does it soften your skin , it also leaves the skin scented as well! Fruit Salsa Face & Body Mask- Tingling and cooling treat that exfoliates, softens and moisturizes. 2 Tbsp. chopped pineapple 1 mango ( peeled, pitted & chopped) 1/2 c. honeydew melon 1/2 c. chopped cantaloupe 1/2 banana 1/4 pear 1 whole kiwi peeled 1/4 peach 10 seedless grapes 1/2 c cilantro 1 pack liquid pectin Mix all ingredients in blender on med. for 2 to 4 minutes. Mixture will be lumpy, place in bowl into refrigerator for 30 minutes, giving pectin a chance to gel. Apply to skin and leave on 20 to 30 minutes, rinse with warm water. Refrigerate unused for up to 2 days. Beer Mask for Men- A great softener and smells great. 1 Tbsp. Beer 1 tsp. yogurt 1 tsp. olive oil 1 egg white 1 tsp. lemon extract 1 tsp. almond extract Mix all ingredients in blender on low for 20 to 30 seconds. Wet facial area with warm water, then apply mixture to skin. Leave on 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then splash with cold water to seal pores. Strawberry Yogurt Face Mash -Use nonfat yogurt for oily skin types, lowfat yogurt for combination skin, regular yogurt for dry skin) 2 to 3 large strawberries 1 tbs plain yogurt Mix in blender or mash with a fork. Apply to clean skin, then lie down for 15 to 20 minutes. Wipe off, then rinse with washcloth soaked in warm water. Pat dry. Body Masque-For rosy, soft, and supple skin. 2 tsp. honey 2 Tbsp. half-and-half 1/2 peach w/skin 1/2 c. chopped pumpkin flesh 1/8 tsp. instant coffee 1 Tbsp. cucumber extract 2 egg whites Mix all ingredients in blender on med. - low speed for 45 seconds or until smooth. Apply to skin, leave on 15 to 20 minutes, rinse with warm water. Shelf life: 2 days refrigerated. Oatmeal Rose Honey Facial 1/8 cup of Rose Petals 1/3 cup finely ground oatmeal 4 teaspoons of honey 1 tsp rosewater Mix ingredients well. Blend in 1 teaspoon of rose water. Apply to freshly cleansed face, leave on for 1/2 hour. Remove with warm water. Rose Water Toner 3/4 cup Rose Water 6 drops Glycerine 2/3 cups Witch Hazel Blend and Shake Pore Cleanser 8 fresh garlic cloves (peeled and mashed) Smooth paste all over face avoiding eyes. It is quite smelly so do it on a day when you can be alone. Leave on your face for 15 minutes. Wash off with a warm cloth. Avocado Facial Mash the meat of the avocado into a creamy texture. Massage into the face and neck with upward and outward movements. Wipe off after 15 minutes with rosewater or witch hazel. Carrot Mask 3 carrots boiled and mashed 5 tablespoons of honey or yogurt Mix ingredients, apply gently, in an upward motion. Leave on for 15 minutes. Splash off with mineral water or witch hazel. To Get Rid Of Dark Circles Under Eyes Wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Wipe off residue and apply an eye cream. Calendula Milk Facial- Use once or twice a week in the winter for a mild exfoliation. 2 tbsp fresh calendula petals 1/3 cup boiling water 2 tbsp instant nonfat dry milk Steep the petals in the water until cool, approx 20 minutes. Cover. Scoop the milk into a bowl add enough tea ( without petals) to make a paste. Put the paste on your face, leave on until its almost dry. ( 5 min) Rub the paste off your skin, then rinse with cool water. For Tired Eyes 2 chamomile tea bags 2 cups boiling water cheesecloth Steep tea bags in water for 30 minutes. Remove bags. Let water cool then freeze it in a ice cube tray. Tie ice cubes in squares of cheesecloth. Rub bundle around eyelids and under eyes. Bags and Dark Circles- Place a thin slice of potato or pear beneath each eye and lie down to rest. Keep on for 15 minutes and rinse off residue. Redness and Puffiness- Lie down and place thin slices of cold cucumber over closed eyes. Relax for 15 minutes. rinse off residue. Dry skin in eye area 1 tbsp castor oil, mineral oil, or oil from vitamin E, A or D capsules Keep out of your eyes. Gently rub oil on surrounding skin, Use before going to bed for an all night treatment. |
